The NOAA-Great Lakes Environmental Research Laboratory recently funded the Great Lakes Observation System (GLOS) to expand the development of locally-focused decision support tools consistent with the recommendations of the 2011 GLOS Enterprise Architecture (EA) Design Report.

GLOS invites you to contribute to the identification of local data and decision support needs by completing a brief questionnaire. If you are interested in the quality of the waters in our initial focus areas – Western and Central Lake Erie (OH/ON), Saginaw Bay (MI), Muskegon Lake (MI), Green Bay (WI/MI), the Bay of Quinte (ON), or the St. Louis River (MN), please answer the four-question survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/GLOSRegionNeeds. This questionnaire, which will be available online until Wednesday, July 3rd 2012, complements the recent GLRI data needs assessment performed by the Sea Grant Network on behalf of GLOS.

Survey feedback will be used to identify and design data management and decision support products that advance the implementation of the GLOS EA report. The elements added under this funding will address priority goals of the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) and local ecosystem observations and response issues.
